Mallikarjun meaning
Mallikarjun (मल्लिकार्जुन) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Kannada and Telugu usage).
A form of Shiva; the linga of Shiva at Srisailam
Also used to mean: Lord Shiva, white as jasmine
Mallikarjun (मल्लिकार्जुन) is a name of Shiva. Monier-Williams records mallikārjuna as a form of Shiva and as the name of the linga consecrated to him on Shrishaila, the hill of Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh, counted among the twelve jyotirlingas. The name joins mallikā, "jasmine", and arjuna, "white, bright", so name lists often add "white as jasmine" beside "Lord Shiva". It is used mainly in Karnataka and the Telugu states. Bearers include the singer Mallikarjun Mansur and the politician Mallikarjun Kharge.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
