Ramdev meaning
Ramdev (रामदेव) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, रा, it is a Tula rashi name (Chitra nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Lord Rāma: a name of Rāma, son of Daśaratha
Also used to mean: god rama, lord rama
Ramdev (रामदेव) joins Rāma with deva, "god", and Monier-Williams records rāma-deva as a name of Rāma, son of Daśaratha, in the Rāmatāpanīya Upaniṣad, as well as of several authors. Name lists give "God Rama" or "Lord Rama". In Rajasthan and Gujarat the name is closely linked with Baba Ramdev, also called Ramdev Pir, the folk saint whose shrine at Ramdevra draws Hindu and Muslim pilgrims alike. A well-known bearer today is the yoga teacher Swami Ramdev.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Ram.
