Jayasurya meaning
Jayasurya (जयसूर्य) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Victorious sun (jaya, 'victory' + sūrya, 'the sun')
Also used to mean: victory of the sun
Jayasurya (जयसूर्य) joins Sanskrit jaya, "victory, triumph", with sūrya, the sun or the sun-god of the Vedas. Both words are in Monier-Williams; the compound is a later name read from its parts as "victorious sun", which is the meaning name lists give. It is used in Kerala and South India, where the actor Jayasurya is a well-known bearer, and in Sri Lanka as the surname Jayasuriya, which comes from the same two words. Jaisurya is the usual North Indian spelling.
