Shatrughan meaning
Shatrughan (शत्रुघ्न) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Foe-killing; name of a brother of Rāma
Also used to mean: victorious over enemies
Shatrughan (शत्रुघ्न) is Sanskrit śatrughna, from śatru, "enemy", and ghna, "killing". Monier-Williams gives the adjective foe-killing and, as a name, one of Rāma's brothers in the Rāmāyaṇa: the son of Sumitrā, twin of Lakṣmaṇa, and the close companion of Bharata. In the last book of the epic he kills the demon Lavaṇa and is crowned king of Madhupura. Name lists give Shatrughan as "victorious over enemies". The actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha is a well-known bearer.
