Jairaj meaning
Jairaj (जयराज) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
King of victory (jaya, 'victory' + rāja, 'king')
Also used to mean: victorious king, lord of victory
Jairaj (जयराज) joins Sanskrit jaya, "victory, conquest, triumph", with rāja, "king", which at the end of a compound can also mean the chief or best of its kind. Both words are in Monier-Williams; the compound is a later name, read from its parts as "king of victory". Name lists give "victorious king" and "lord of victory", which fit. Jayraj is the usual spelling in Gujarat and Maharashtra. The actor and director P. Jairaj, whose career ran from silent films to the 1990s, received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
