Jaipal meaning
Jaipal (जयपाल) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A king, literally 'guardian of victory'; a name of Brahmā and Viṣṇu
Also used to mean: victorious protector
Jaipal (जयपाल) is the Hindi form of Sanskrit jayapāla, from jaya, "victory", and pāla, "guardian, protector". Monier-Williams gives jayapāla as a word for a king, literally "victory-keeper", notes that the old lexicons also list it as a name of Brahmā and of Viṣṇu, and records it as the name of several kings; it is also the name of the purging croton plant. Name lists give "victorious protector", which matches. Jayapala of the Hindu Shahi dynasty ruled in the north-west in the late 10th century, and Jaipal Singh Munda captained India's hockey team at the 1928 Olympics.
