Ojasvi meaning
Ojasvi (ओजस्वी) is a Hindu unisex name of Sanskrit origin, used for both girls and boys. By its first sound, ओ, it is a Vrishabh rashi name (Rohini nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Vigorous, powerful, strong, energetic
Also used to mean: radiant, bright
Ojasvi (ओजस्वी) is the nominative form of Sanskrit ojasvin, an adjective built from ojas, vigour or vitality, with the possessive ending -vin, so "possessed of vigour". Monier-Williams gives it the same sense as ojasvat: vigorous, powerful, strong, energetic. Its feminine is ojasvinī, the source of the girls' name Ojaswini, and MW also records Ojasvin as the name of a son of Manu Bhautya. Name lists usually explain Ojasvi as "radiant", "bright" or "lustrous", as well as "brave" and "energetic". The bright sense echoes the lexicons' gloss of ojas as light or splendour, while the dictionary meaning of the adjective itself is strength. The name is given to both boys and girls.
