Pratishtha meaning
Pratishtha (प्रतिष्ठा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Steadfastness, foundation; fame, high rank; consecration
Also used to mean: establishment
Pratishtha (प्रतिष्ठा) comes from prati-sthā, "to stand firm". Monier-Williams gives a rich set of senses: standing still and stability; a foundation, base or support; a dwelling; rest and ease; fame, pre-eminence and high rank; and the consecration of an image or temple, as in prāṇa-pratiṣṭhā, the rite that installs a deity in its image. In Hindi pratiṣṭhā is the everyday word for prestige and good name. Name lists give "fame", "establishment" or "pre-eminence", all in the dictionary. Pratishta is a simpler spelling.
