Richa meaning
Richa (ऋचा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Praise; a verse, especially a sacred verse honouring a deity
Also used to mean: hymn, vedic hymn
Richa (ऋचा) comes from Sanskrit ṛc, which Monier-Williams defines as praise and, above all, a sacred verse recited in honour of a deity. Such verses are set apart from the sung Sāman chants and the muttered Yajus formulas, and in the plural the word can mean the Rigveda itself. Name lists usually translate Richa as "hymn" or "Vedic hymn", which is close to the dictionary sense. Because Marathi pronounces the letter ऋ as "ru", the same name is spelled Rucha in Maharashtra. The actor Richa Chadha is a well-known bearer.
