Rituparna meaning
Rituparna (ऋतुपर्णा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
A king of Ayodhya in the Mahabharata; ṛtu season + parṇa leaf
Rituparna (ঋতুপর্ণা) brings together two Sanskrit words: ṛtu, a fixed time or season of the year, and parṇa, a leaf or a feather. Read literally, that is a leaf of the seasons. In the Mahābhārata, Ṛtuparṇa is the king of Ayodhyā in the story of Nala and Damayantī: Nala, in disguise, serves as his charioteer and learns the secret of dice from him in exchange for his skill with horses. In Bengal the name is now used for girls as Rituparna and for boys as Rituparno, as with the actress Rituparna Sengupta and the film-maker Rituparno Ghosh.
