Ranganayaki meaning
Ranganayaki (ரங்கநாயகி) is a Tamil and Hindu girl's name.
The lady of Srirangam, consort of Ranganatha (Lakshmi)
Ranganayaki (ரங்கநாயகி) is the goddess of the great Vishnu temple at Srirangam, the consort of Ranganatha and a form of Lakshmi. Her name joins raṅga, which Monier-Williams gives as a stage or assembly hall and which the Tamil Lexicon, as araṅkam, also records as Srirangam itself, with nāyaki, a lady, mistress or heroine. So it reads 'the lady of Ranga'. In Srivaishnava tradition she is honoured as Thayar, 'the Mother'. It is used in Tamil Vaishnava families.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Lakshmi.
