Kanakadurga meaning
Kanakadurga (कनकदुर्गा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Telugu usage).
Golden Durgā; kanaka 'gold' with Durgā
Also used to mean: golden Durga
Kanakadurga (कनकदुर्गा) joins kanaka, "gold", with Durgā, the goddess whom Monier-Williams describes as "the inaccessible", wife of Shiva. Kanaka Durga is the goddess of the hill temple on Indrakeeladri above the Krishna river at Vijayawada, one of the most important shrines in Andhra Pradesh; temple tradition says she appeared there glowing with a golden light. The Dasara festival there draws huge crowds. Telugu families give the name, often written as two words, to daughters in her honour.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Durga.
