Kanupriya meaning
Kanupriya (कनुप्रिया) is a Hindu girl's name of Hindi and Sanskrit origin.
Beloved of Kanu (Krishna)
Also used to mean: beloved of Krishna, Radha
Kanupriya (कनुप्रिया) joins Kanu, a fond Hindi form of Kanha or Kanhaiya, names of Krishna, with Sanskrit priyā, "beloved, dear". Platts records kāṅh and kanhaiyā as names of Krishna, and Monier-Williams gives priya as dear or beloved. Together the name means "Krishna's beloved", and it is understood as Radha. Name lists give the same meaning. It is also the title of Dharamvir Bharati's 1959 Hindi poem, in which Radha reflects on her love for Krishna.
