Sowjanya meaning
Sowjanya (सौजन्या) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Telugu usage).
Goodness, kindness, benevolence, friendliness
Sowjanya (सौजन्या) is the Sanskrit noun saujanya, formed from sujana, "a good person". Monier-Williams defines it as "goodness, kindness, benevolence, friendliness", and it appears in classical works such as the Mrcchakatika and the Rajatarangini. In Hindi and other Indian languages saujanya is still the ordinary word for courtesy and good will. Name lists explain Sowjanya as "kind" or "gentle", which agrees with the dictionary. The spelling Sowjanya is used mainly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana; Soujanya and Saujanya are also used.
