Kanaklata meaning
Kanaklata (कनकलता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Golden creeper; a plant likened to a slender woman's figure
Kanaklata (कनकलता) joins Sanskrit kanaka, "gold", and latā, "a creeper", so it reads as "golden creeper". Monier-Williams lists kanakalatā as the name of a plant to which poets compared the slender figure of a woman, and latā on its own can also mean a slender woman. The name is best known through Kanaklata Barua, a seventeen-year-old from Assam who was shot while leading a procession to hoist the national flag at the Gohpur police station during the Quit India Movement in 1942. It is used mainly in eastern India.
