Papiya meaning
Papiya (पापिया) is a Hindu girl's name of Bengali origin. By its first sound, पा, it is a Kanya rashi name (Uttara Phalguni nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
The hawk-cuckoo, a songbird (Hindi papīhā)
Papiya (পাপিয়া) is the Bengali name of a songbird. The Samsad Bengali-English Dictionary glosses pāpiẏā as the Indian nightingale or hawk-cuckoo, and the Hindustani papīhā, which Platts identifies as a species of cuckoo, is the same bird, known for its repeated, rising call. Some baby-name lists give the meaning "butterfly", which the dictionaries do not support. Papiya is a girl's name used mainly in West Bengal and Bangladesh, with a musical sound and a link with birdsong.
