Geetika meaning
Geetika (गीतिका) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, गी, it is a Makar rashi name (Dhanishta nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A short song or hymn; a metre
Geetika (गीतिका) is Sanskrit gītikā, a word in the same family as gīta and gīti, "song". Monier-Williams gives it as "a short song or hymn", and also as a metre of four lines of twenty syllables and a stanza in the Gīti metre, so the word moves between music and poetry. It shares its root, gai, "to sing", with Geeta and Geet. Baby-name lists give "little song" or "song", which matches the dictionary. Some lists also link the name to Sarasvatī, the goddess of music and learning; the dictionary does not record that sense, so it is best read as an association rather than a meaning. The name is also spelt Gitika and, in the south, Geethika.
