Namrata meaning
Namrata (नम्रता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Humility, modesty (from namra, "bowing, humble")
Namrata (नम्रता) is Sanskrit namratā, "humility", the abstract noun formed with -tā from namra, "bowing". Monier-Williams gives namra as bowing or inclining, bent or curved, hanging down and, of people, submissive, reverential or humble, a sense found from the Ṛgveda on; namratā appears in the same entry. The root is nam, "to bow", which also gives namas, a bow or salutation, and so the everyday greeting namaste. Name lists give "humility" or "modesty", which match the dictionary. Namratha is a spelling used in South India, and the name sounds the same across the major Indian languages.
