Kuhu meaning
Kuhu (कुहू) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, कु, it is a Mithun rashi name (Ardra nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
The call of the koel; the new moon
Also used to mean: cuckoo's call, sweet voice
Kuhu (कुहू) is the sound of the koel, the Indian cuckoo whose call fills the air in spring. Monier-Williams records kuhu as an imitative word for the cry of the koel and similar birds, and kuhū as the new-moon day, when the moon cannot be seen, personified as a daughter of the sage Aṅgiras. Name lists give "cuckoo's call" or "sweet voice", and in Hindi poetry the koel's kuhū-kuhū is a classic image of longing and the arrival of spring. It is a short, sweet modern name.
