Swara meaning
Swara (स्वरा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Sound, voice; a musical note; tone
Swara (स्वरा) comes from Sanskrit svara, which Monier-Williams gives as "sound, noise", "voice", "tone, accent" and "a note of the musical scale". In Indian classical music the seven svaras, sa re ga ma pa dha ni, are the building blocks of every raga, and the same word also means a vowel in grammar. Name lists give "musical note" or "voice", which matches. Swara is a modern name; the feminine ending -ā marks it as a girl's name.
