Swasti meaning
Swasti (स्वस्ति) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Well-being, good fortune, success, prosperity; 'may it be well'
Swasti (स्वस्ति) is the Sanskrit word svasti, formed from su-, "well", and asti, "it is". Monier-Williams gives the noun as "well-being, fortune, luck, success, prosperity" and the exclamation as "hail! may it be well with thee", the word that opens many Vedic blessings and old letters (svasti vācana is a rite of blessing). Name lists give "well-being" or "auspiciousness", which matches. The same word gives svastika, the ancient sign of good fortune. Swasti is a short, modern-sounding name used across India.
