Anvita meaning
Anvita (अन्विता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Joined, connected with, accompanied by; possessed of; understood
Anvita (अन्विता) is the feminine of Sanskrit anvita, the past participle of anu-i, "to go after, to follow". Monier-Williams lists the senses gone along with or accompanied, joined or connected with, having something as an essential part, endowed with, obtained, grasped by the mind, and, in grammar, connected in construction. Name lists give "connected", "linked" or "followed", which agree with the dictionary. In Sanskrit the word often stands at the end of a compound to mean "endowed with" a quality, so as a name it carries a sense of being joined to good things. Some sites link Anvita to Lakshmi or Durga; we found no source for that.
