Viha (विहा, Gujarati વિહા) is a short modern name that is well liked in Gujarati families. Monier-Williams records vihā as a rare Sanskrit word meaning heaven, the same as svarga, and some name lists do give "heaven". Most lists, though, give "dawn" or "morning", the meaning usually attached to the boys' name Vihaan. We could not find that sense in the Sanskrit dictionary, so it appears to be a modern meaning that the two names now share, rather than the word's original sense.
