Manasa meaning

Manasa (मानसा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Telugu and Kannada usage). By its first sound, मा, it is a Simha rashi name (Magha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.

Of the mind; the mind, heart, soul; Lake Manasa

Manasa (మానస) is Sanskrit mānasa, from manas, "mind". Monier-Williams gives the adjective as mental or spiritual, something conceived in the mind, and the noun as the mind, spirit, heart and soul. Mānasa is also the sacred lake on Mount Kailāsa, today's Mansarovar, where the swans of Indian poetry are said to fly. With a short first vowel, Manasā is a different word: the goddess who guards people against snakebite, widely worshipped in Bengal. As a girls' name Manasa is used mainly in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
