Pranathi meaning
Pranathi (प्रणति) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Telugu usage).
Bowing, salutation, reverence, obeisance
Pranathi (ప్రణతి) is Sanskrit praṇati, formed from the prefix pra- and the root nam, "to bend" or "to bow", the same root as in namaste. Monier-Williams defines it as bending or bowing, salutation, reverence and obeisance, and cites it from the Mahābhārata and classical poetry. The name therefore describes the respectful bow made before an elder, a teacher or a deity, and some name lists render it as prayer. The spelling with -thi follows the Telugu way of writing the Sanskrit t; elsewhere it is often written Pranati.
