Arpana meaning
Arpana (अर्पणा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Offering, consigning, entrusting
Also used to mean: surrender
Arpana (अर्पणा) comes from Sanskrit arpaṇa, which Monier-Williams defines as offering, delivering, consigning or entrusting, from a verb meaning "to place" or "to hand over". In Hindu devotion arpaṇa is the offering of something, or of oneself, to God, as in the phrase kṛṣṇārpaṇam, "offered to Krishna". Name lists give "offering" or "surrender", in line with the dictionary. Arpana is used across India; it is sometimes confused with Aparna, a name of Parvati, which is a different word.
