Sivakami meaning
Sivakami (சிவகாமி) is a Tamil and Hindu girl's name.
Parvati as worshipped at Chidambaram
Also used to mean: beloved of shiva
Sivakami (சிவகாமி) is the name of the goddess Parvati as she is worshipped at Chidambaram, beside Shiva as Nataraja, the cosmic dancer. The Tamil Lexicon of the University of Madras records civakāmi in that sense and traces it to Sanskrit Śiva-kāmī, from Śiva and kāmin, which Monier-Williams gives as loving, fond of or enamoured; name lists render it 'beloved of Shiva'. The name is a Tamil girls' name and is also the heroine of Kalki's historical novel Sivakamiyin Sapatham. A well-known bearer is the novelist and former civil servant P. Sivakami.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Parvati.
