Shloka meaning
Shloka (श्लोका) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Sound; fame, praise, a hymn of praise; a stanza or verse
Shloka (श्लोका) is a girls' name formed from Sanskrit śloka. In the Rigveda the word means a sound or call, and also fame, glory and praise, including a hymn of praise. Later it became the word for a stanza, above all the two-line epic metre, also called anuṣṭubh, in which most of the Mahābhārata and Rāmāyaṇa is composed. Name lists give "verse" or "hymn", which matches the later sense. As a given name it is modern and mostly used for girls, while Shlok is the boys' form.
