Vidya meaning
Vidya (विद्या) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Knowledge, science, learning, scholarship, philosophy
Vidya (विद्या) is the Sanskrit vidyā, "knowledge", from the root vid, "to know", the same root that gives the word Veda. Monier-Williams gives it as "knowledge, science, learning, scholarship, philosophy", and records the old ways of dividing learning into branches: four vidyās in one scheme, among them the three Vedas and logic, with Manu adding a fifth, knowledge of the self, and later counts of fourteen, eighteen or even sixty-four. Knowledge personified is identified with the goddess Durga, and name lists often connect the name with Saraswati, the goddess of learning. Indian name lists give Vidya as "knowledge", matching the dictionary. A well-known bearer is the actress Vidya Balan.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Durga.
