Vidisha meaning
Vidisha (विदिशा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
An intermediate direction; the ancient river and town Vidiśā
Also used to mean: the city of vidisha
Vidisha (विदिशा) is Sanskrit vidiśā, from vi- and diśā, "direction". Monier-Williams gives it as an intermediate point of the compass, between the cardinal directions, and as the name of a river and of the town on its banks, the capital of the old Daśārṇa country. Kālidāsa mentions Vidiśā in his poem Meghadūta. The town survives as Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh, near Sanchi. Some name lists give unrelated meanings such as "goddess of knowledge"; we could not find these in any dictionary.
