Suruchi meaning
Suruchi (सुरुचि) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Great delight; from su- + ruci, lustre, liking, taste
Also used to mean: good taste
Suruchi (सुरुचि) joins su-, "good, great", with ruci, which Monier-Williams gives as "light, lustre, beauty" and "liking, taste, relish". The dictionary records suruci as "great delight". Name lists usually give "good taste", a fair reading of the same parts. In the Puranas Suruchi is the favoured queen of King Uttanapada and mother of Uttama, whose harsh words to her stepson Dhruva set him on the path that made him the Pole Star. In Hindi suruchi still means refined taste.
