Ajay meaning
Ajay (अजय) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Unconquered, unsurpassed, invincible; a name of Vishnu
Ajay (अजय) comes from Sanskrit ajaya, made of a-, "not", and jaya, "conquest". As an adjective Monier-Williams gives it as unconquered, unsurpassed and invincible, and it records Ajaya as a name of Viṣṇu. The dictionary also notes that the feminine Ajayā is the name of a friend of the goddess Durgā and a word for Māyā, illusion. Taken alone, the masculine noun can mean "non-victory", but the name follows the adjective, "one who cannot be conquered". Name lists give the same meaning, "invincible". Ajay is used across India and in every major Indian language.
