Prosenjit meaning
Prosenjit (प्रसेनजित) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
Name of several princes, notably the Buddha's contemporary, king of Śrāvastī
Also used to mean: conqueror, victorious
Prosenjit (प्रसेनजित) is the Bengali form of Sanskrit Prasenajit. Monier-Williams records it as the name of several princes in the epics and Puranas, above all the king of Śrāvastī in Kosala who was a patron and contemporary of the Buddha, known in Pali as Pasenadi. The name ends in jit, "conquering", so name lists usually give it as "conqueror" or "victorious". It is used mainly in West Bengal, where the film actor Prosenjit Chatterjee has carried it for decades.
