Prashast meaning
Prashast (प्रशस्त) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Praised, commended; fit, good; auspicious; excellent, best
Prashast (प्रशस्त) is the Sanskrit praśasta, from pra-śaṃs, "to praise". Monier-Williams gives it as praised and commended, as fit or good, as auspicious, of a star or a day, and as excellent or best. The same root gives praśaṃsā, "praise", and praśasti, the inscriptions that record the deeds of kings. In Hindi prashast also means wide and open, as in a clear path. Name lists give "praised" or "excellent", the same as the dictionary.
