Jugal meaning
Jugal (जुगल) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A pair, a couple (Hindi form of Sanskrit yugala)
Jugal (जुगल) is the Hindi form of Sanskrit yugala, "a pair, a couple". Platts' Hindustani dictionary traces jugal through Prakrit to the Sanskrit word and gives it as a pair, couple or brace, with jugal-joṛī for two brothers or sisters close in age. Monier-Williams adds that yugala is also the name of a prayer to Lakṣmī and Nārāyaṇa together. In devotional use the pair is Radha and Krishna, which is why the name often appears as Jugal Kishore. Name lists give "pair" or "couple", which matches.
