Devnath meaning
Devnath (देवनाथ) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, दे, it is a Meen rashi name (Revati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Lord of the gods; a name of Shiva
Also used to mean: divine master
Devnath (देवनाथ) is the Sanskrit deva-nātha, from deva, "god", and nātha, which Monier-Williams gives as a protector, patron or lord. Monier-Williams translates the compound as "lord of the gods" and records it as a name of Śiva, taken from a traditional list of his names. Indian name lists give the same meaning. The ending -nath appears in Hindu names such as Kedarnath, Somnath and Vishwanath, all titles of Śiva. Devnath is used as a first name in North India and, in the form Debnath, as a family name in Bengal, Tripura and Assam.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
