Unmesh meaning
Unmesh (उन्मेष) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, उ, it is a Vrishabh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Opening of the eyes; flashing; blossoming; coming into view
Also used to mean: awakening
Unmesh (उन्मेष) is the Sanskrit unmeṣa, from the verb ud-miṣ, "to open the eyes". Monier-Williams gives it as the opening of the eyes, a flash of light, the opening or blossoming of a flower, and coming into view. In Kashmir Śaiva philosophy unmeṣa is the opening out of awareness, paired with nimeṣa, its closing. Name lists give "awakening", "opening of the eyes" or "flash", all close to the dictionary. It is easily confused with Umesh, a different name meaning "lord of Umā".
