Vishnu meaning
Vishnu (विष्णु) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
One of the principal Hindu gods, the preserver; probably "all-pervader"
Vishnu (വിഷ്ണു, विष्णु) is the name of one of the principal gods of Hinduism. Monier-Williams notes that the name probably comes from the root viṣ and may mean "all-pervader" or "worker". In the Rig Veda Vishnu is a solar god famous for his three great strides across the universe, and in later tradition he became the preserver, forming a triad with Brahmā and Śiva, and taking avatars such as Rama and Krishna. The god's own name is given to boys in Kerala, Karnataka and across the rest of India.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
