Vishakh meaning
Vishakh (विशाख) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Branched, forked; a name of Skanda (Kartikeya) and of Shiva
Also used to mean: Lord Kartikeya, a nakshatra
Vishakh (विशाख) is the Sanskrit viśākha, literally "branched, forked". Monier-Williams gives it as a name of Skanda, the war god also called Kartikeya or Murugan, citing the Mahābhārata, and also as a form of Skanda regarded as his son, and as a name of Shiva. The feminine viśākhā is the lunar asterism Vishakha, figured as a decorated arch, and Monier-Williams notes that viśākha can also mean "born under Viśākhā". Name lists give the name as "Lord Kartikeya" or link it to the nakshatra, both of which the dictionary supports. It is used in Kerala, also spelled Visakh, and should not be confused with Vaishakh, the month.
