Lav meaning
Lav (लव) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Son of Rama and Sita, Kusha's twin; also 'a bit, a moment'
Also used to mean: son of Lord Rama, fragment
Lav (लव) is the name of one of the twin sons of Rama and Sita in the Ramayana. Monier-Williams records that Lava and his brother Kusha were brought up in the hermitage of the sage Valmiki, who taught them to recite the Ramayana. As an ordinary word, lava means cutting or reaping, a small piece or fragment, and a very short moment of time, which is why some name lists add "fragment". Lahore's name is traditionally linked with Lava, though that is a legend rather than a historical record. Luv is an alternative spelling, and twins are sometimes named Luv and Kush.
