Jyotiprasad meaning
Jyotiprasad (ज्योतिप्रसाद) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Assamese usage).
Compound of jyotis, 'light', and prasāda, 'brightness; grace, favour'
Jyotiprasad (ज्योतिप्रसाद) joins Sanskrit jyotis, "light", with prasāda. Monier-Williams gives prasāda first as clearness and brightness and then as grace, kindness and favour; it is also the word for food blessed by a deity. The name thus means "grace of light" or "gift of light". In Assam it is closely tied to Jyoti Prasad Agarwala, the poet, songwriter and maker of the first Assamese film, Joymoti (1935), who is honoured as Rupkonwar and whose death anniversary is observed as Silpi Divas.
