Jyotirmay meaning
Jyotirmay (ज्योतिर्मय) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Consisting of light, brilliant; starry
Also used to mean: full of light, radiant
Jyotirmay (ज्योतिर्मय) is Sanskrit jyotirmaya, from jyotis, "light", with the suffix -maya, "made of, full of". Monier-Williams gives it as consisting of light or brilliant, a word Kālidāsa's Raghuvaṃśa applies to Viṣṇu and which is also said of Śiva, and as abounding with stars, starry. Name lists give "full of light" or "radiant", which matches the dictionary. In Bengal the name is written and said Jyotirmoy, and Jyotirmayi is the matching girls' name.
