Eknath meaning
Eknath (एकनाथ) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Marathi usage). By its first sound, ए, it is a Vrishabh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Having one master; name of an author
Also used to mean: the one lord
Eknath (एकनाथ) joins Sanskrit eka, "one", and nātha, "lord" or "protector". Monier-Williams reads the compound as "having one master" and records it as the name of an author. Name lists usually turn it round to "the one lord", which uses the same two words. The name is best known in Maharashtra through Sant Eknath (c. 1533–1600) of Paithan, a Marathi poet-saint of the Warkari tradition devoted to Vitthal, who wrote the Eknathi Bhagavata and the Bhavartha Ramayana. It is used mainly in Marathi families.
