Trilok meaning
Trilok (त्रिलोक) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
The three worlds; the inhabitants of the three worlds
Trilok (त्रिलोक) is the Sanskrit triloka, from tri, "three", and loka, "world". Monier-Williams gives it as "the three worlds", citing the Mahābhārata and the Rāmāyaṇa, and also as the beings who live in them. In Hindu cosmology the three worlds are usually heaven, the earth and the region below or between, and gods such as Viṣṇu and Śiva are praised as lords of all three, which is why longer names such as Triloknath and Trilokchand are also used. Name lists give Trilok as "three worlds", the dictionary sense. A well-known bearer is the percussionist Trilok Gurtu.
