Mahidhar meaning
Mahidhar (महीधर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Telugu usage).
Bearer of the earth; a mountain; an epithet of Vishnu
Mahidhar (महीधर) is Sanskrit mahīdhara, from mahī, "the earth", and dhara, "bearing, supporting". Monier-Williams gives it first as "supporting the earth", then as a word for a mountain, since mountains were thought to hold the earth steady, and as an epithet of Vishnu. Mahidhara was also the name of the sixteenth-century scholar whose commentary on the Shukla Yajurveda is still printed with the text. Name lists give "bearer of the earth" or "mountain", matching the dictionary. The name is used most in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
