Tridev meaning
Tridev (त्रिदेव) is a Hindu boy's name.
The three gods, the Hindu trinity (tri + deva)
Tridev (त्रिदेव) joins tri, "three", and deva, which Monier-Williams gives as heavenly or divine and as "a god". In Hindi the word tridev names the trinity of Brahmā the creator, Viṣṇu the preserver and Śiva the destroyer, the same idea expressed in Sanskrit by trimūrti. Name lists give Tridev as "three gods" or "the Hindu trinity". The compound itself is not an entry in Monier-Williams, so the name rests on its two parts and on modern usage. Many Indians also know the word from the 1989 Hindi film Tridev.
