Uchit meaning
Uchit (उचित) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, उ, it is a Vrishabh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Proper, suitable, fit; customary; delightful, agreeable
Also used to mean: correct, appropriate
Uchit (उचित) is the Sanskrit ucita. Its oldest senses in Monier-Williams are "delightful" and "agreeable", from a verb meaning to take pleasure in something, and from there it came to mean customary and usual, and then proper, suitable and right. In Hindi and most Indian languages ucit is still the everyday word for "proper" or "appropriate". Name lists give Uchit as "correct", "proper" or "appropriate", which matches the dictionary; the link to Lord Vishnu found on a few lists is not in Monier-Williams. It is a short name with an ethical meaning, used across India.
