Shivakumar meaning

Shivakumar (शिवकुमार) is a Hindu and Tamil boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Kannada, Telugu and Tamil usage).

Son of Śiva, i.e. Kumāra or Skanda

Also used to mean: son of Shiva

Shivakumar (शिवकुमार) joins Śiva, "the auspicious one", with kumāra, which Monier-Williams gives as a child, boy or son, a prince, and a name of Skanda, Shiva's son, pictured as a beautiful youth. The name therefore means "son of Shiva" and points to Skanda or Kartikeya, as name lists also say. It is used across the South, as Shivakumar in Karnataka and Sivakumar in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Its best-known bearer is Shivakumara Swami, the long-serving head of the Siddaganga Math.
