Bhargav meaning
Bhargav (भार्गव) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Telugu and Gujarati usage). By its first sound, भा, it is a Dhanu rashi name (Mula nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Descended from Bhṛgu; a name of Paraśurāma and of Śukra
Bhargav (భార్గవ్, ભાર્ગવ) is Sanskrit bhārgava, "of the line of Bhṛgu", the great Vedic sage. Monier-Williams records it as a name of Śukra, the planet Venus and teacher of the asuras, and of Paraśurāma, the axe-bearing avatar of Vishnu, who was born in Bhṛgu's family; it is also listed as a name of Śiva. Because Paraśurāma was a master archer, the word came to mean an excellent bowman. The Bhārgavas, Bhṛgu's descendants, are an important priestly family in the Mahābhārata. Bhargav is a boys' name used mainly in Telugu and Gujarati families.
