Thirunavukkarasu meaning
Thirunavukkarasu (திருநாவுக்கரசு) is a Tamil and Hindu boy's name.
Holy king of speech; the name of the Shaiva saint Appar
Thirunavukkarasu (திருநாவுக்கரசு) means 'holy king of the tongue', that is, king of speech. It joins tiru, holy, with nā, which the Tamil Lexicon gives as tongue and word, and aracu, king. The Lexicon identifies nāvukkaracu as the Shaiva saint better known as Appar, one of the three poets of the Tevaram hymns and one of the sixty-three Nayanmars of the seventh century. Tradition says he received the title when a hymn he sang to Shiva cured him of a painful illness. It is a Tamil Shaiva name for boys.
